3 Ways in Finding Time for Gaming

Oman is beginning to ignite the weather. It's sad for me because I couldn't wear my awesome jackets whenever I go out. It seems only yesterday that coldness wraps around our bodies but alas, its summer. And any season is always a good time to play!

Unfortunately, I'd never played any console or PC game during the past month because of a lot of reasons. This lead me to even want to find time to play. So, here are some tips on how to find time for gaming.

1. Finish all your work.
Accomplishing your job that needs to be done early will also give you more time to play. Focus on your task and prioritize the things that you have to complete before any gaming session. You wouldn't want to be interrupted whenever you're in the middle of the game don't you? That's why you need to wash the dishes, clean the room, finish your homework, your take you job and other responsibilities that are important. Remember, gaming is just there and won't run away from you.

2. 30 minute break
Sometimes, when you are studying or you're already burnt out. It's best to stop, rest and maybe play a video game. I don't know about you, but this helps you to keep out of stress and continue later on on studying or working. I suggest only light gaming so you won't get addicted while playing. I know, its almost as if it contradicts the first advise but take note, its only around 15-10 minutes break to recuperate from your stressful activity. One game I would suggest for 10-15 minutes is Vain Glory.

3. While they're asleep.
What better way to play when there are no distractions. Yes, when all are asleep. Caution though, do not play any MOBA or any multiplayer games during this time. This games will definitely wake up your housemates or family due to your rage or lag that you'll encounter. Too much clicking and keyboard mashing will absolutely let your wife shut down your computer. What I would suggest is that you should play single player games or RPG which does not involve communicating and multiplayer.

Of course, even though you are a gamer you should know and give priority on which will be important. It's ok not to game in a day. Trust me. I know it's hard at first but be patient and practice discipline. Gaming gives you joy and entertainment but they don't pay you for it. Unless you are a popular streamer or an esports athlete. Playing casually is ok and in the long run, you'd be playing soon with your children and your could discipline them to on their gaming habits.

Huge GAMING EVENT in Muscat! 968Gamez Video Games and Arts Event

There are a lot of events happening here in Muscat, Oman right now. One of which is the Muscat Festival. This is celebrated every year around January to February. People who live in Oman for a long time don't actually bother to come and visit the event for some reason or they just don't see anything new. I for one is guilty of it. I haven't been to Muscat Fest this year and will close soon.

Anyway, this year, there is a new event that's happening on March and I am so hyped and excited about it! This event is for all gamers and artists out there. I am a gamer and an artist so it pretty much tells me straight on that this is for me.

968GameZ is hosting a VIDEO GAME AND ARTS EVENT on MARCH 8-10 2018 at the Opera Galleria in Muscat. I liked the idea that there are a lot of gamers and artists out there and showcase what they love. People like me have been waiting for an event like this where gamers and artists gather, socialize and watch gaming tournaments. I attended the IGN convention last 2016 and I must say, they have a few activities during that time. But this event shows the organizers of IGN con how a  gaming convention should be. 968GameZ literally organized a tournament based on the games most people play here in Oman. From League of Legends to Overwatch, FIFA 18, Street Fighter V and many more. Almost all competitive eSports games will be showcased in the event.

I'm so glad I get to be there and attend this legendary event in Oman! Check out @968GameZ at Instagram for more information about their event. See you guys there!

5 reasons why League of Legends is still the best MOBA for me

A lot of video games has been released and a lot of them are amazing. The graphics, the gameplay, the storyline and the experience are incredible. So much work has been put up to create a great game where people enjoy playing them. Whether it be on Windows, Mac, PS4, XBONE, or Nintendo, the companies deliver an incredible experience to the gamers.

But have you ever played at game that you never get tired of? Even you have these beautiful games in front of you, you still go back and play the game that you love. Yes, my friend, you are not alone. I still play League of Legends even though I've got a lot of new games. And here are my reasons why I bounce back to League of Legends.

1. Gameplay

The gameplay of League of Legends is constantly changing and that's a good thing. This shows that they listen to the community and add a lot of new features that make the players more interested in playing the game.

A lot of people who tried this game, especially from a DOTA 2 player's point of view will probably say that this game is trash. But I don't blame them. It's really difficult to adjust in a new game especially in MOBA and won't accept that this game is also great. The gameplay is totally different and I am really wondering why they compare LOL and DOTA 2 where in it's not comparable with each other. Each have a different gameplay experience. They say the graphics are BAD and looks like Cartoons but when you look at those who say these, the also love Mobile Legends which is, I should say, a copy of LOL, but on mobile.

All in all, the gameplay requires skills and strategy with a lot of teamwork. This game is fun. Nuff said.

2. Longevity

Nope! The game does not take long in a match. The game will finish around 20-45 minutes and this is what I love about it. I am a busy father and I almost have no time to play games in a day. But I could spare 30-40 minutes in playing League of Legends especially when my child is asleep. Unlike in DOTA 2, the game would last for around 1 hour or even more than an hour. And I don't want to waste precious time only to play for an hour for only one match. I mean if I'd play DOTA 2, I should be paid for it.

3. System Requirements

Most games today require a lot of power and graphics to fully have the best gameplay experience. but in League of Legends, they don't require much graphics and will still run great. Heck, I even play LOL sometimes in Mac OS and still runs perfectly(FPS drops sometimes though). You don't really need to spend a lot of cash in buying a gaming laptop or a Gaming Rig in playing LOL especially when you are on a budget.

4. Champions

The champs and there kit are very creative and cool. It really makes the game enjoyable and interactive. They even look good. I mean the art style is amazing. You can't even see one champ that looks like a big ball of light. I mean who's gonna want to play a character which looks like a ball of light and can't even kick ass in-game?

5. Free to play

Yes it's free to play but if you want to buy the skins, you need to pay with real money. Most players don't understand why all the champs are not free? and need to buy it either though in game money or through real money. The reason is that players who dive in to the game and use advanced champions will be having a difficult time playing. Thus, making their experience in the game terrible and will lead to uninstallation of the game. So, LOL made the basic champs accessible and will help you improve your gameplay skills step by step making it more fun and accessible. As you progress in the game, you get rewarded. Either with in game currency to buy champs or free skins through loot boxes.

There are a lot of possibilities and this game and I guarantee you'll make new friends. The community is not that toxic compared to DOTA 2, in my experience, that is. So, why am I still writing this blog? I'm supposed to play now XD

See you at the Rift noobs!

The Gamer who cannot Play

The Gamer

A gamer is a person who plays a lot of games and/or spend hours in playing video games regardless of the console they play at. Whether they game on Playstation, Xbox, Nintendo or the PC, they thrive to play a game because of its content, story and the entertainment it gives to them.

When gaming stop?

But one question comes to mind. When does a gamer stop playing games? The answer? Nope! They don't stop playing games. There will come a time that gamers will be busy at work, school, with the kids or with the family but they will always have time for playing games when they are alone.

So many games! So little time!

Like me, I have a lot of games that are still to be finished and I'm already lagging behind the ith some new games! Heck! One of my favorite game is Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom pain and I never finished it yet! Then came Final Fantasy XV which is one of my most anticipated game last year and I already started it and already halfway to finishing the game...without even completing MGSV!

This is sometimes frustrating because even though who have found a time to play the game, it isn't that enjoyable anymore. Maybe it's because of the worry or having to do something else at work that needs to be done, or maybe you can't focus on the game because of the limited time you have. I can give a lot of reasons and go on with it but I think you got my point.

So yeah, I'm a gamer and have a lot of consoles, but I'm a gamer who can't play. Welcome to my blog! XD

5 Tips in Buying a New Video Game

Which game should you buy?

Are you having a dilemma on which games you should buy? You get tempted on buying a new game because of there fancy and mind blowing trailers keep reeling you in. Thus, pre-ordering it online or buying it during launch. But the question is, "is it worth buying your new game?"

In this blog, I've got some 5 Tips on how to buy a Video Game.

TIP #1: Consider playing a demo or beta access of the Game.

It's a no-brainer that you should have tried the game you wanted to buy or have been playing the beta access of it before actually buying the game. It gives you the idea on how the game play looks like, how the control feels and other technical stuff you should know about in game. I'm sure there are a lot of games centers in your area which let's you play demos of a new game. In addition to game centers, you could also play demos at the mall where they sell consoles and games. But maybe you ask yourself, I played the demo but only at the beginning. There is so much more to explore in this game. Which leads us now to tip no. 2

TIP #2: Make sure to watch a lot of reviews about the game.

There are a lot of gaming company out there which gives you professional and informative reviews about the games you want to play. To name some, there is Polygon, IGN, Games Radar, Kotaku, etc. I know you would be curios about the games and check there ratings about the game but you should also consider the reviews of other professional gamers or game streamers who has an early access of the game. To name one famous game streamer, Pewdiepie. Pweds became so popular because of his epic reactions on the horror games he play. He also plays upcoming games even before launch. He also gives comments and reviews about the game he played so check them out.

TIP #3: Wait for it to go on Sale

There was never a time that a game will not be on sale. It's true coz' I always check on promotions and sale on every platform I have. The game you bought fot 60$ now may be on sale tomorrow for half the price. There is going to be a lot of promotions and sale especially during weekends or during seasonal sale where Steam is the popular platform which gives insane deals on PC games. Flash sales are also happening in the Playstation platform especially for those PS Plus subscribers so you should definitely wait for it because it is going to be worth it.

TIP #4: Consider the genre of the game.

As gamers, we have different tastes of games. Some love to play FPS and others play MOBA which is totally different with each other. Some players like to play adventure games but does not want to play RPG. or MMORPGs. Find a game that you'll definitely enjoy. Heck, even free to play games are enjoyable than paid games. Don't buy a game which is new, or which is really popular unless you've played it already. For example, the new Resident Evil 7. It's a really great game but if you are not into horror games, you only wasted your money on it.

Last but not the least.

TIP #5: Do not pre-order.

I just want to mention one game. "No Man's Sky". Many gamers went on the Hype train of No Man's Sky and unfortunately, the train crashed. The game was a big let down to those who pre-ordered it. Like I said, there will always be attractive trailers before launch. But after gamers actually played the game, BOOM! Instant refund. And there was a lot of them. So don't make the same mistake as them. Unless you are a hardcore gamer and wanted those freebies which are included in the pre-order and saw some reviews about the game, then by all means, go ahead.

So yeah, these are the tips I would like to impart to you as a gamer myself. Gaming should not be expensive and you can enjoy playing games even on a tight budget.

What is a Gamer?

What is a gamer?

When you spend a lot of time playing video games, are you considered a gamer? What does a gamer really mean? When you play video games, its one thing, but mastering and beating a lot of games is another thing

There are different classifications of a gamer. The ones who are competitive, the ones who play for fun or the casual gamer, and the ones who play to beat the game. So the question is, where do I fit in?

I play a lot of games like MOBA, MMORPG, FPS, RPGs and even puzzle and card games. But there will come a time that you would want to excel and compete with other players in you favorite game. You invest your time in practicing a hero or a character just to beat your friends or anyone else online. You would also want to be recognized in the E-sport scene.

You could say that was one of my dream before then eventually, I failed. Mastering a game is not that easy. Sure, you are going to be good at playing DOTA 2 but there is a slim chance you could be invited in the biggest E-sport tournament in the world. With the millions of players playing the game I'm sure there are a lot of them better than your skill in game. Hate to break it to you but its true

Even though it is possible, it also means that you've got a lot to sacrifice. This will include your time. Your time with your family, your job, your studies and your friends. It is going to be your career if you would really go on that path.

At my age as a gamer, I try to balance my time with gaming, my family and my job. Even if I haven't finished a lot of games in my PS4, as long as you juggle your time well, it would definitely be worth it. Sacrificing your time with your family means you'll regret it in the long run. Your games are just there and will not hate you or love you back and you can play video games whenever you have a free time.

So what does a real gamer mean? A gamer manages his time well without sacrificing anything and having fun ingame or even in the game of life.

Super Mario 3D World, I Have You At Last!

Super Mario 3D world made me blog again

It's been awhile ever since my last blog and I believe it was last year December probably because I became lazy or less motivated during those time and I've been very busy at work. Now, I have a new game...well, it's not actually new because it was released last year December and believe it or not, it became the best game of 2013, rated 10/10 by popular game analysts and game reviewers. The game Nintendo should have released at the same time the Wii U was released, Super Mario 3D world.

Taking away the dirt in my Wii U

Super Mario 3D World was the game I have been waiting for since its release date but I couldn't but it for some reason. But now, I got it, and been enjoying it the first time I inserted the CD into my Wii U and said "At last, my Wii U won't be stuck in one corner anymore." This is my second title in the Wii U system where in the first title was The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD. I haven't finished playing Zelda yet but I finished the game before in Game Cube.

The Game We Have Been Waiting For

The gameplay of Super Mario 3D World is actually refreshing. The HD graphics, controls, power-ups, characters are all beautiful and enjoyable. I never doubted Nintendo's way of giving the costumer's the fun they need for casual and hard core gamers alike. We are never too old for a Mario game and this game proves it.

We have been playing this game with my wife and so far, we don't get bored in playing it. Each world and stage are definitely to look forward to. Each stage are challenging especially finding secret Green Stars to unlock other levels. Team work is also recommended when playing this game. We are already having difficulties in two player mode, how much more in multi-player mode which has a maximum of four players? It's gonna be total chaos, but then again, a lot of fun!

We totally recommend Nintendo's Super Mario 3D world for the Wii U. Trust me, you won't regret it.

Why I downloaded Pokemon Y

Why I downloaded Pokemon Y

Pokemon X and Y is the sixth generation of the main series of Pokemon games. Developed by Gamefreak and published by Nintendo for the 3DS and 2DS, this game is one of the fastest selling Nintendo game of all time where more than 4 million units was sold worldwide in just 2 days. I’ve been looking for reviews about the game and rated the game 4.5/5 or 9/10 which means it is really awesome or great. That is why I was tempted to buy it digitally on the Nintendo eShop and did not regret it.

It’s been awhile since I held on to my Nintendo 3ds for a long time. It’s almost like I don’t touch my 3ds anymore because I finished all the games I bought which includes The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil Mercenaries 3D. And now, Pokemon Y which I recently bought, lets me hold on to my 3DS and can’t stop playing 24/7!

I felt nostalgic when I started to play this game. It has been a long time since I played a Pokemon game. My first pokemon game was Pokemon Red Version where my best friend since grade school influenced me into playing this game. This is the first generation of Pokemon which includes the three of the starter Pokemon: Squirtle, Charmander and Bulbasar. I finished the game but I was unsuccessful in completing my Pokedex. Pokemon Y is completely different since the pokemon game I played and right now, I’ve been playing it for weeks and I still only have 2 badges as of now.

There are a lot of new features of Pokemon Y which includes online battling, trading and a whole new level of training. Unlike any other Pokemon games, Pokemon Y lets your pokemon train not only through battles but with a mini-game called Super Training where you can increase the Pokemon’s Stats. This brings a new level of training your pokemon. So if you fought the same pokemon with the same level with other trainers, it now depends how strong his stats and affections are.

The game has so much more to offer which I could not write it all in one blog. I’ve yet to finish the game as I am currently exploring towns and cities with my bike and roller skates, collecting pokemons day and night, training them and trading online with mostly Japanese players.  I don’t know where my adventure in the game leads me to so I guess I would just #waitforit.

Dead or Alive, you're coming with me. RoboCop Reboot 2014!

The new ROBOCOP Reboot is coming your way next year February 7, 2014

We all have a lot of memories about ROBOCOP especially the 90's kids out there. I even idolize ROBOCOP and buy ROBOCOP toys during my childhood days because he is totally awesome. The half-human half-cyborg cop will bring justice in a whole new level. The armor looks great and they did a really good job on the remake of it, and definitely looks good on black.

I'm really interested on this reboot especially when you have Joel Kinnaman, Michael Keaton, Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson on it.
